"Philosophy isn't a parlor trick or made for show. It's not concerned with words, but with facts. It's not employed for some pleasure before the day is spent, or to relieve the uneasiness of our leisure. It shapes and builds up the soul, it gives order to life, guides action, shows what should and shouldn't be done — it sits at the rudder steering our course as we vacillate in uncertainties. Without it, no one can live without fear or free from care. Countless things happen every hour that require advice, and such advice is to be sought out in philosophy."
— Seneca, Moral Letters
Today's meditation can also be compared to trading.
Trading isn't a game or a bit of fun either. If you want such fun where you can gamble your money, go to a casino!
If you are to become serious about your trading, you must find or develop a strategy to suit you and then practice until you know that strategy inside out and back to front.
The more that you become familiar with your strategy, you will gain the confidence and belief that you can deal with any situation that the market throws at you during a trade. Manage those trades to completion and you become consistent too which in turn gives you even more confidence and you will secure long term profitability, as long as you stick to the rules/criteria for your strategy 100% of the time.
So stay patient and disciplined enough to only trade what fully meets your criteria and this will help you massively on your trading journey if you can do that.
Remember that as the title of today's meditation says; "This isn't for fun. It's for life."
