Pay What Things Are Worth

John BoyUk, 27 March

"Diogenes of Sinope said we sell things of great value for things of very little, and vice versa."
— Diogenes Laertius, Lives of the Eminent Philosophers

I really like a statement in today's meditation and I quote; "The market might be rational... but the people who comprise it are not!"

There will always be someone offering odds for you to take and as long as they meet the rules/criteria for your strategy, then they are value and worth it of course.

I believe that whatever something costs, it is worth it IF it makes a difference.

I have a lifetime licence for Geeks Toy trading software which has paid for itself many, many times over and now costs me nothing. Do I need to pay annually or monthly for something like Bet Angel with all it's bells and whistles? Absolutely not, because Geeks Toy does everything I need and it is much faster, smoother and more responsive for trading the horses in running in my experience so it's a no brainer for me! Do I need multiple screens when I am trading? Nope... I use Geeks Toy, Betfair and it's live video feed and all my pre race websites and software from one computer screen. The most expensive requirement for me is my Proform platinum subscription and that for me falls into the whatever something costs it's worth it category, because it makes a massive difference and I couldn't use my horse racing strategy without it. In fact I built and based my strategy using the stats/data from Proform, that is available to me; so again it's a no brainer!

Like it says at the end of todays meditation; "The good things in life cost what they cost. The unnecessary things are not worth it at any price. The key is being aware of the difference".

The message is loud and clear "Pay what things are worth."
