Learn, Practice, Train

John BoyUk, 19 May

"That's why the philosophers warn us not to be satisfied with mere learning, but to add practice and then training. For as time passes we forget what we learned and end up doing the opposite, and hold opinions the opposite of what we should."
— Epictetus, Discourses

Today's meditation is a great example of what I have touched on many times during these daily journals.

We need to learn and develop our strategies so that we know them inside out and back to front. Constant practice, rinse and repeat, means we become more and more proficient, confident and consistent.

Training ourselves to fully stick to the rules/criteria for our strategies, is vital to achieve our goal of becoming profitable traders.

Staying patient and being disciplined to stick to that one idea can be tough, boring and monotonous but it will reap it's rewards.

So "learn, practice, train" to become "consistent, confident, profitable."
