Judge Not, Lest...

John BoyUk, 17 November

"When philosophy is wielded with arrogance and stubbornly, it is the cause for the ruin of many. Let philosophy scrape off your own faults, rather than be a way to rail against the faults of others."
—SENECA, MORAL LETTERS, 103.4b–5a

Today's meditation comes up with some really good points about how we should be concentrating on our own mistakes or faults that we need to try to rectify, rather than judging others for theirs!

The same can be said when we compare this to trading too of course. We should be focused inward, to make ourselves better and leave other people to that task, for themselves and their own trading journey.

Our faults are in our control, while other people's faults are in their control; it's down to the individual, to control their own faults.

We are certainly not in a position to judge other people's faults, when we have so many of our own!

Practice your strategies by turning up every day that you can and even the smallest improvement is a real positive, moving forward.

Stick to your rules rigidly and work hard at trying to eliminate any mistakes, with the aim of becoming better and better each day.

The repetitive hard work will pay off with patience in the long run, as long as you stick to your rules 100% of the time.

We shouldn't be using our time to be judging others, when we should be concentrating on getting our own house in order!

Can you do that? I hope so, because it will make you feel so much better concentrating solely on yourself, as you improve and become more consistent and profitable.

This way, you can be an example to others, rather than trying to judge them for what they are doing, when you are certainly not empowered to do so!
