Don't Seek Out Strife

John BoyUk, 6 February

"I don't agree with those who plunge headlong into the middle of the flood and who, accepting a turbulent life, struggle daily in great spirit with difficult circumstances. The wise person will endure that, but won't choose it — choosing to be at peace, rather than at war."
— Seneca, Moral Letters

I'm sure you don't need reminding that the last thing we want when we are trading (or in life in general) is strife!

Greed can cause anger and strife when things don't go to plan, but because we have more realistic and patient trading goals, we shouldn't be in a position where we let greed get the better of our trading decisions.

We have a set criteria of trading rules that has to be fully met, before we use our strategy and enter a trade. These strategies are developed to give us the best chance to succeed and be profitable, enabling us to avoid the pitfalls of getting greedy and staying in trades too long or pushing the rules/limits of our strategies. This can only be achieved however, if we stick to our rules 100% of the time and don't waver!

This way we will keep greed at bay and avoid the anger and strife that can develop, if we let it. We have to be aware of our feelings and mindset constantly when we are trading and stick to the long term plan, even if it feels like slow progress at times.

Stay patient and remember, we are in this for the long haul. Even the smallest amount of profit, is still progress!

You've got this; you can do it for sure.
