Work Is Therapy

John BoyUk, 29 May

"Work nourishes noble minds."
— Seneca, Moral Letters

A very interesting meditation today and I truly believe that trading is also therapy.

By sticking to the rules/criteria for your strategies and constantly practising, you will become consistent and profitable. If you take your pre-event targeted profits and take the occasional controlled losses at your pre-arranged exit point, to protect your bank long term, you will be successful for sure!

You will become patient and disciplined, waiting to pounce only when a potential trade fully meets your criteria and if you can get used to taking any controlled losses without hesitation to protect that bank, your confidence will grow and you will see the results for the hard work that you have put in!

It is not easy and not everybody can be this disciplined, but you can't afford to hope that a trade will turn back in your favour. If you are in the land of hope during a trade, you have quite simply left it too late!

If you can overcome this and exit in a heartbeat when you are not seeing what you expect to happen, you will be a winner in the long term; period.. It's as simple as that.

Trading the way you plan to trade is very therapeutic.

If you are treating trading seriously as a business and protecting your assets correctly, then just as "work is therapy," so is trading; so get out there and trade!
