"When you see someone often flashing their rank or position, or someone whose name is often bandied about in public, don't be envious; such things are bought at the expense of life. . . . Some die on the first rungs of the ladder of success, others before they can reach the top, and the few that make it to the top of their ambition through a thousand indignities realize at the end it's only for an inscription on their gravestone."
— Seneca, On The Brevity of Life
Today's meditation is a timely reminder, not to do too much!
A couple of lines that really stand out for me from today's meditation and I quote "The ability to work hard and long is admirable. But you are a human being and not a human doing."
When it comes to trading, it is really important to take breaks during a session and to not rush, trying to trade every horse race, football match, greyhound race, tennis match etc.
This is where following the rules/criteria for your strategies works very well as there will be plenty of events, where nothing meets your criteria. This gives you an opportunity to take time away from the screen and stay refreshed and hydrated.
The old saying that I have used on a few occasions when writing these daily journals since the turn of the year, springs to mind. "Less is more"
Also remember this; "The most overlooked and underappreciated growth strategy is patience. (More specifically, consistently producing great work over a long time horizon)"
Look after yourself, in body and mind. Take pre trading walks, try some meditation; be kind to yourself.
This will keep you "in the zone" when you are trading.
Most of all, enjoy your trading journey! You can do it for sure!
