"Love the humble art you have learned, and take rest in it. Pass through the remainder of your days as one who whole-heartedly entrusts all possessions to the gods, making yourself neither a tyrant nor a slave to any person."
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
When I read today's meditation I immediately recognised that I "love the humble art" of trading!
I make the time for it and I love what I do enough to make that time.
There is a great message too, in the last sentence from today's meditation and I quote; "Can you trust that if you put in the effort, the rest will take care of itself? Because it will. Love the craft, be a craftsman."
To recap then; If we put in the hard work and practice as often as we can, so that we get to know our strategies inside out and back to front, rinse and repeat; we will be rewarded.
We must always stick to the rules/criteria for our strategies and fully manage every trade to completion. This is where we have to put in the hard work and be persistent, patient when nothing meets our criteria and disciplined to not jump on anybody else's trades, or trade out of impulse! We have our rules/criteria for a reason and we must follow them to the letter, 100% of the time. This is our craft and by doing this we become craftsmen in the humble art of trading.
Do you think that you too can "love the humble art?"
Food for thought maybe?
