"Your principles can't be extinguished unless you snuff out the thoughts that feed them, for it's continually in your power to reignite new ones. . . . It's possible to start living again! See things anew as you once did — that is how to restart life!"
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
This is very similar to trading and I'm sure we can all relate to this at times, on our trading journey!
We know our strategies will work many more times than they don't, because if that wasn't the case, then we wouldn't be using them. If we have a bad day and a few trades seem to be going against us, it's important to stick to our rules 100% and if need be take a few more controlled reds, to protect our bank. We can all have days like these occasionally, but it's how we react and deal with it, that keeps us going. Don't be tempted to change things because you are having a tough trading session; think long term and how it's worked so well overall, rather than trying a quick fix, which can make matters worse! Stick to your strategies and to the long term plan, because you know this works. Don't let a bad day or a bad week make you start doubting and tinkering with things. Keeping the correct mindset with unbending discipline, is vital when things aren't going to plan and you are feeling that the markets are against you; they're not, but they're also not with you, they are neutral of course, even though it can feel that they are against you at times! "Reignite your thoughts" and stick to the tried and trusted plan and you'll come through it, I promise you!
